We do respite care in Brisbane

We do respite care in Brisbane

No one can care like you do, but no one expects you to go it alone, either.

What if there was a way to recharge while your loved one was safe and engaged? Not a break from them, but a break for them, and for you, too.

HammondCare’s Social Clubs provide exactly that.

While you catch your breath, the person you care for spends the day connecting with new friends and enjoying meaningful activities in a welcoming environment, supported by skilled, compassionate specialised dementia carers.

Refresh, return, repeat – and keep caring well.

Our social clubs are open to frail older people and people living with dementia in the Brisbane area.

How do I start respite care?

We'd love to show you around!

Choosing respite can feel like a big step, but you don’t have to figure it out on your own.

Our local Social Club manager is available to meet with you, talk through eligibility criteria, show you around, and help you understand what care could look like for your situation.

They can also help guide you through My Aged Care, including how to access funding and the right codes, making the process simpler and less overwhelming.

“My wife really enjoyed her time there and always came home happy, sharing stories about the day. It made a real difference to her quality of life, giving her connection and enjoyment — and it gave me the reassurance and time I needed to keep caring well.”

"Mum loves going to social club. The carers are absolutely divine. They have a genuine care for clients and treat them with respect and dignity in a completely safe environment. They engage with clients' interests, comfort them when they are upset, but most of all they have fun. I wish she could go every day, for someone living alone and with low dementia it is perfect."
