There are a number of pricing options available for those moving into a HammondCare residential care home.

These costs and processes can often be complicated, but we’ve tried to make them as clear as possible. If you’re not sure what the best option for you is, or if you would like to talk to someone about your financial situation, please don’t hesitate to get in touch at 1800 776 112 or visit our Contact page.

1. Care Costs

  • Basic Daily Fee: an amount set by the government that everyone in residential care pays, which goes towards care needs and living expenses. It is set as a proportion of the aged care pension.
  • Means Tested Care Fee: those residents whose income and assets exceed thresholds set by the Australian Government will also be asked to pay a means-tested care fee.

There are other additional and supplementary services that can be provided at an extra cost. These will be discussed with you according to your individual care.

2. Accommodation Costs

Aged care providers set a price for each room within a service. This price is published publicly and is available on the My Aged Care website.

Accommodation payments can be structured as you prefer: as a one-off lump sum, as a daily payment, or as part lump sum-part daily payment. If payment is partially by lump sum, then the remaining daily payment can, if requested, be withdrawn from the lump sum amount. Speak to us about your financial situation and how we can assist.

A Centrelink Income and Asset Test will determine if the government will contribute towards the accommodation cost for a resident. If a resident is verified to be of low means, the Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) price will not apply and the government will pay the aged care provider a daily rate towards accommodation costs.

3. Personalised Services

To provide comfort and satisfaction to residents, all HammondCare residential sites have access to a number of high-quality services and features.

Personalised Services are provided in addition to the provision of standard care and services. These Personalised Services highlight the value in HammondCare’s unique model of care, which incorporates resources and services that aim to enhance the overall living experience for each resident.

Please get in touch with our Admissions team to learn more about Personalised Services and the costs involved.

Government care subsidy

The government pays a subsidy to aged care providers based on the care support that a person requires. Each person is assessed with respect to their care needs to determine the subsidy rate that will be paid.
