The single-level residence has been specially designed to make life more comfortable for older people, the frail aged and those living with dementia, and features a range of relaxed spaces for everyone to enjoy. Reverse cycle air conditioning will also ensure comfort for guests all year round.

What is overnight respite care?

When you are a carer, it’s important to take some time out to rest, recharge or take a holiday.

Overnight respite care provides temporary relief to primary caregivers, while offering guests a comfortable homelike environment. 

Respite guests are supported with daily tasks, provided with a wide range of social activities and can enjoy delicious meals prepared fresh daily.

Respite guests can also enjoy single rooms that are spacious, well-maintained, and come complete with individual adjustable electric beds, built-in wardrobes, bedside tables, and reading chairs.

How do I start Respite Care?

Government-funded Respite Care is available for carers who support an older person and/or a person living with dementia. But the type of support given depends on the level of care needed.

To apply, you’ll complete an eligibility check and a free assessment. Then, if approved, you’ll be allocated respite through the Commonwealth Home Support Programme or in your Home Care Package.

What is overnight respite?

Overnight respite in one of our respite cottages offers a short break from being at home. Guests will enjoy delicious meals prepared fresh daily, along with specialised support and a range of social activities during a short overnight stay.

If you are caring for an older person, or a person living with dementia, you may be eligible to receive subsidised respite care from the Government. To access In-Home Respite contact My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 or visit www.myagedcare.gov.au.

The number of weeks or days can differ depending on whether you’re receiving a Commonwealth Home Support Programme or Home Care Package, or paying privately. All our respite care services provide short-term, flexible support. For example, in-home respite can be accessed weekly and can be adjusted to meet your current needs.

Yes, you can pay for in-home respite through your Home Care Package. Overnight respite is usually funded through the Commonwealth Home Support Programme and guests will need to provide their unique referral code. Please call our Support Team on 1800 826 166 to discuss your situation with us.

Your respite care can be covered by either your Commonwealth Home Support Programme funding, Home Care Package funding or be self-funded. Costs vary depending on whether care is provided after hours or within daytime hours. You can view these costs here.
