Start making sense for everyone with good design

Over 800,000 Australians will live with dementia by 2050 and right now, 2/3 of people with dementia live at home, in the community.

When we design public spaces, we make them accessible and enabling for people with physical disabilities.

But what about cognitive and sensory disabilities? Dementia affects our ability to navigate the world. We can help it make sense to them through design.

Considerations like contrast, acoustics, lighting and wayfinding play a critical role in making spaces more accessible, inclusive and intuitive. These are some of the many practical ways we can support people living with dementia through design.

Good design is for everyone. Learn how to harness it to make life significantly better for people living with dementia.
