‘With the support of our team, Caroline was able to leave the hospital for the first time in months to choose an outfit for the photo shoot,’ Braeside’s Nurse Unit Manager, Sanam Nghi, said. ‘She often spoke about how much she was looking forward to the photos and how the experience made her feel like herself again.’ 

When the day finally came, Caroline had her family photos taken, beautifully dressed, her nails done and surrounded by the people she loves.  

‘The occasion also brought Caroline's family closer together, with her daughter travelling from interstate to join in,’ said Sanam. ‘What made it even more special was seeing mother and daughter reconnect gently after a difficult period, sharing laughter during the photo shoot.’ 

Caroline was overwhelmed by the help she received to look her best, and the lovely photos that resulted. 

‘I never thought I could look so good to be honest!’ Caroline said. ‘It was such a wonderful day. Honestly it was the greatest experience. I’m just so happy I was able to do that and I’m so thankful that everyone involved made it happen.’ 

Even more precious than the photos was the time with the family. 

‘Bringing the family together – I didn’t think that was ever going to happen,’ Caroline added. ‘It was literally perfect, in every way.’
