Respite Care
A vital break for carers, while those they care for are safe and supported
What is Respite?
Respite provides short-term support so carers can have a break from their caring role, knowing that the person they care for is being well looked after. This includes in-home respite, overnight respite and centre-based respite.
HammondCare’s trained and experienced Care Workers can look after the person needing care in their own home or in one of our respite cottages. Each of our respite services are flexible, to meet the needs of the carer and the person being cared for. We also offer emergency respite for when unforeseen events arise.
Our Respite Cottages
HammondCare At Home also offer respite in our Respite Cottages. This enables carers, particularly of people living with dementia, the chance to take a break from their caring role.
The guests love that these are not located in residential aged care homes. The cottages provide guests with individualised support from our professional staff and are ideal for stays of up to 10 nights.
These services are offered in NSW Central Coast and Northern Sydney.
“I was nearly at my wit’s end and would have had a breakdown if the pressure of such an intense caring role had continued without any respite.” - Shelby
