This year, HammondCare’s Christmas Appeal shines a light on the Dreams Program – a HammondCare Foundation initiative that fulfills heartfelt special wishes for patients with life-limiting illnesses.
Caroline, a patient at Braeside Hospital, longed to create precious family memories. Thanks to the Dreams Program, her wish came true.
After three months in hospital, Caroline dreamed of gathering her husband and eight children for a family photo shoot. With the support of our team, she left the hospital for the first time in months to choose an outfit.
On the big day, she was beautifully dressed, with hair, make up and nails done, surrounded by her loved ones – including a daughter who had travelled interstate to join them.
“It was literally perfect in every way,” Caroline said. “I didn’t think that was ever going to happen.”
