Getting the most out of your Home Care Package

As our range of service offerings is so broad, here are 10 examples of how we can help you maintain quality of life and independence in your own home with funding from your Home Care Package.

  1. Daily living activities – this may include shopping, food preparation, housework, doing the laundry, changing bed linen.
  2. Transport – perhaps you need someone to take you to a medical appointment, or you could request cab vouchers so you can visit a loved one in care or go to a concert, family function or social activity.
  3. Pets – walking the dog; assistance with taking a pet to the vet.
  4. Technology and communication – stay connected with family and friends with the help of digital technology such as tablets and computers.
  5. Allied Health services – such as Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapist or Exercise Physiologist.
  6. Home maintenance – removal of mould in your home, clearing gutters, plumbing, outdoor maintenance and gardening.
  7. Home modifications – installing grab rails in the bathroom, ramps, sensor lights.
  8. Mobility and lifestyle aids – purchase or hire of hospital beds, recliner/power lift chairs, non-slip mats, wheelchairs, walkers, incontinence products, dementia specific equipment and aids, emergency pendants and detectors.
  9. In-home respite – looking after your loved one at home while you take a break or need to do errands.
  10. Life engagement – trips to the movies, art gallery, beach or other favourite outing, dance and movement classes and even a walking/shopping companion.
