Caulfield Village open for visitors after Covid-19 clearance

HammondCare’s Caulfield Village has been officially declared clear of Covid-19 by the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and has re-opened to visitors within previous visitation guidelines

Caulfield Village 22 580Two residents in separate cottages had received positive tests in May and despite subsequent negative tests, a full lock down of the village occurred, with follow up testing and contact tracing, alongside HammondCare’s own outbreak plan. Both residents are well.

The official DHHS clearance process, which included 14 day quarantine periods, has now been completed, allowing family and friends to connect again in person with residents.

General Manager of Residential Care, Angela Raguz, thanked residents, family and friends, and staff for their patience and trust in the past few weeks while lockdown and quarantine requirements were in place.

“The general sense of calmness and your partnership with us meant we were able to navigate this situation successfully together,” Ms Raguz said, in a letter to resident representatives and staff.

“It is an excellent testimony of our abilities as a community to respond quickly and effectively to unique circumstances.”
