About the role:

The role of Residential Manager works within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to ensure that care is delivered in a manner and style that fits within HammondCare’s model of care, by continually describing, interpreting and modelling the fundamental principles of our philosophy of care.

This role is based at our Waratah site which has four residential services located on this site. The role is responsible for the Banksia residential service which has a total number of 72 beds however the service is currently half full, so the focus of this role will also include occupying the remaining beds. You will be responsible and accountable for leading all aspects of this management role which involves providing exceptional leadership to the staff and residents and promoting calm independence within the resident community.

The role works within the philosophy of care and core values of HammondCare to ensure that the service is tailored to the needs of the individual residents and delivered in a style that aims to maximise resident satisfaction.

The essence of this role:

  • Lead, motivate and empower staff to deliver high quality, individualised care to our residents, in calm, supportive and safe environments.

  • Responsible and accountable for oversight of all aspects of operational and clinical care provision, direction and performance of Banksia.

  • Ensure the efficient operational and financial management of the Residential Care home.

About you: (Selection Criteria)

  • Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action.

  • Experience in aged care essential.

  • Tertiary qualifications or working towards.

  • Significant practical experience in a management role including experience managing a team.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, motivate and develop a team and effectively work with other staff.

  • Strong administrative and computer skills.

  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills. 

  • Takes action within level of responsibility allocated, and knows when to seek support, advice and escalation when required.

  • High level communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability for empathy and patience.

  • Strong initiative, analytical skills and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong service ethos.

  • Working knowledge of ACFI and Residential Accreditation Standards, essential.
