About the role

  • Permanent roles with minimum guarantee of 20 hours per week
  • Flexible shifts times are available between 7am and 7pm, Monday to Sunday, to meet the times you’re available to work.
  • Career progression is promoted for our Care Workers, with opportunities to progress through to Management level;
  • Full training is provided, with mentoring, ongoing education and opportunities to gain formal qualifications through our HammondCare College;
  • Local offices, local Managers and a 24-hour support line are accessible for our Care Workers to ensure that all our staff feel well supported within their role and daily duties;
  • Salary Packaging is offered to all of our staff (increasing take-home pay) and we also provide an exclusive employee benefits program;
  • Competitive salaries and conditions are offered, including penalty rates, paid travel time and kilometres, direct reimbursement of tolls/parking costs incurred at work, broken shift allowance any time you have a gap over 1 hour in your schedule, and minimum daily shifts of 2 hours guaranteed

The HammondCare Community Care Worker works within the Mission of HammondCare to support older people living in their own home. Our Care Workers are supported by experienced Clinical and Care Managers and provide outstanding care for clients, for example:

  • Provide a range of ‘in-home’ care according to the care needs of each client, under the supervision of their Care Manager
  • Enable each client to succeed at the activities of daily living which promote dignity, self-respect and maintain the client’s quality of life and abilities
  • Maintain and update care activities and client notes for family and Care Managers

About you

  • Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare's Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action.
  • No experience necessary, however a passion in providing personal care for older people and to care for people living with dementia is essential.
  • Car, driver’s license, and comprehensive car insurance
  • Willingness to travel between HammondCare's sites and from client to client homes throughout the shifts.
  • Administrative and computer skills, including the usage of a smart phone.

It is important to note that the HammondCare At Home Care Worker role is covered by the HammondCare At Home Care Worker Enterprise Agreement, which sets out the employment conditions for the role.
