As our services continue to grow, HammondCare have some fantastic opportunities available for Community Care Workers in West, North and East Melbourne.

About the position

The position of the Community Care Worker is to deliver a range of in-home aged care services to our clients who are in receipt of a home care package. The care provided to individual clients can vary, and may include support with social interaction, respite, assistance with household tasks and shopping, and support with personal care.

  • Permanent roles are available with a minimum guarantee of 20 hours per week, working in areas across West, North and East Melbourne metro;
  • Career progression is promoted for all of our Care Workers, with opportunities to progress through to Management level;
  • Full training is provided, with mentoring, ongoing education and opportunities to gain formal qualifications through our HammondCare College;
  • Local offices, local Managers and a 24 hour support line are accessible for our Care Workers to ensure that all of our staff feel well supported within their role and daily duties;
  • Salary Packaging is offered to all of our staff (increasing take-home pay) and we also provide an exclusive employee benefits program;
  • Competitive salaries and conditions are offered, including penalty rates, paid travel time and kilometres, direct reimbursement of tolls/parking costs incurred at work, and a broken shift allowance any time you have a gap over 1 hour in your schedule.

About you

  • Do you have experience in caring for people living with dementia or a disability?
  • Are you calm when things change suddenly and you need to find another way?
  • Are you comfortable using a smart phone and/or a computer?
  • Are you responsible and reliable?
  • Are you good at following instructions and directions given by others?
  • Do you enjoy working as part of a team?
  • You must have a current Australian Driver's Licence and your own reliable registered and comprehensively insured vehicle.
  • Opportunities to join our team are available – working across 7 days (between the hours of 7am and 9pm) including weekends to work part time / flexible hours
  • The ability to speak a language other than English is advantageous ie Greek, Italian, Mandarin, Cantonese or Macedonian, it will greatly assist our clients.
