HammondCare celebrates our 940+ volunteers this National Volunteers Week

This week we’re celebrating our volunteers who each week bring joy to people - in our hospitals, residential care and client homes each day.

During National Volunteers week 21-27 May 2018, we will be gathering our volunteers together in each of our locations to recognise their valuable contribution.

HammondCare’s Head of Volunteer Services, Rev Andrew Nixon says “Volunteering is core to our history and part of our organisation’s DNA. Our volunteers are following in the great tradition of Rev Bob Hammond himself, who built Hammond Pioneer Homes with volunteers.”

“Our volunteers are focussed on ‘quality of life’, not just ‘quality of care’. Volunteers have time – and they can give the precious gift of time to others. Like the theme of this year’s National Volunteers week, by giving a little, our volunteers change a lot,” said Rev Nixon.

HammondCare has over 940 volunteers spread from the Hunter region, to Bathurst and down to Nowra, across metropolitan Sydney as well as in Caulfield Victoria. All together our volunteers donate over 6,000 hours a month to the patients, residents and clients of HammondCare.
