HammondCare At Home coming to Coffs Harbour

HammondCare At Home will open new offices in Coffs Harbour in response to the region’s demand for specialised in-home care for people living with dementia.

Heading up local operations is HammondCare At Home (HCAH) Area Manager – Mid North Coast, Cathy Sendlhofer. A long-time resident of Coffs Harbour, Cathy says that HCAH will provide a much needed service in her community.

“I’m really excited about taking up this role. When it comes to in-home care for people with a cognitive impairment, there is a shortage of options,” said Ms Sendlhofer.

“I am proud to be a part of providing a service like this to the people in my community who need it."

HCAH’s National Operations Manager, Jo Luhr, said the decision to open an office in Coffs Harbour was because of high demand for the type of service, coming from the local region.

“We have researched the area thoroughly and noted a high demand for dementia-specific services in and around Coffs Harbour,” Ms Luhr said.

Meanwhile, David Martin, General Manager of HammondCare at Home, strongly endorses what he describes as a unique home-care program.

“HammondCare provides care for people with dementia that allows them to stay at home much longer than they have in the past,” Mr Martin said.

“Our approach to care is unique in Australia and has been developed through more than 20 years working in this field.”

These services will operate out of the Cruickshank Centre in Coffs Harbour and cover the area south to Scotts Head, north to Woolgoolga, and as far inland as Dorrigo. Operations are expected to commence on June 13.
