HammondCare’s Bond House is a 124-place mixed low and high-care home. It is made up of Jones Hostel, Shaw and Poate Homes, and Lavender Palliative Care Suite.

Residential Aged Care

Jones Hostel

Jones Hostel is a low-care home, with 52 large and recently refurbished single rooms. Each room has an ensuite, and residents also have access to a number of common areas.

These common areas include:

  • A main dining room, with small dining tables and chairs for comfortable group dining, a piano, and a deck with outdoor furniture.
  • Two large verandahs, with outdoor furniture and a range of pot plants.
  • The Burt Sitting Room, with bookshelves, a TV, DVD player, tables and chairs, and a number of comfortable lounge chairs.
  • A smaller wing dining room, containing small tables and chairs for comfortable group dining.
  • A visitors’ room with a table and chairs, and a kitchenette that is fitted out with a fridge, toaster and microwave.
  • A TV room with another TV and large table and chairs for activities.
  • A sitting room, with desks, two computers and comfortable lounge chairs.
  • A common room, with comfortable lounge chairs.

Bedrooms in Jones Hostel are approximately 16m2.

Shaw and Poate nursing homes

Between them, Shaw and Poate nursing homes have 63 high-care places, consisting of 46 single rooms, seven two-bed rooms and one three-bed room.

There are a range of common areas including:

  • Poate Sitting Room, which has a TV and comfortable lounge chairs.
  • Poate Dining Room, with small tables and chairs that can be rearranged for comfortable group dining.
  • A small sitting room with a TV, an organ, lounge chairs and room for wheelchairs and water chairs.
  • An outdoor courtyard, which has ramp access, a well-maintained garden, a deck with benches and tables, a barbecue and a shaded area.
  • The Shaw Dining Room, with small tables and chairs, comfortable for group dining.
  • The Shaw Activities Room, which has a TV, a piano and chairs.
  • The Shaw Sitting Room, which has tables and chairs.

Single bedrooms in Shaw and Poate nursing homes are 12-16m2. Shared bedrooms are approximately 16m2.

Lavender Palliative Care Suite

Lavender Palliative Care Suite is a specialist palliative care unit. It has nine single rooms with ensuites, as well as the Thomas Sitting Room. This contains comfortable lounge chairs, a kitchenette with coffee-making facilities, and a TV.

Bedrooms in Lavender Palliative Care Suite are approximately 20m2.

We aim to provide comprehensive support for the person, their family and carers, support which embraces physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs. Throughout your stay, we place great importance on working together with you, and your family and caregivers, in order to respond to your particular needs. We value understanding your wishes for care in the future, and can provide information for you about how to communicate those wishes to your care team.

The Lavender Suite is supported by the Specialist Palliative Care team of Braeside Hospital and South West Sydney Local Area Health District.

To be eligible for referral to the Lavender Suite, you will need to have both a specialist palliative care assessment and an Aged Care Assessment. Our Client Liaison Team would be pleased to answer any questions regarding the admission process.

Bond House common areas

Bond House also has a number of common areas and facilities that all residents can utilise.

These common areas include:

  • A Games room with a pool table, a putting green, an organ and a kitchenette.
  • A Chapel
  • A dental room
  • A physiotherapy room
  • A domestic laundry with a washing machine, a drier and an ironing board that residents are able to use as they wish.

All areas of the facility are accessible, with wide corridors and call points located throughout the home.


Bond House is located on Judd Ave, Hammondville NSW 2170 in the Liverpool Local Government Area (LGA). It is situated within The Hammond Village along with three other aged care homes, 129 independent living units, a village centre and HammondCare’s Centre for Positive Ageing and Care.

The broad range of accommodation options at the village enables couples with differing care needs to remain close to each other even if they live in different settings.

Other amenities within the village include, a GP clinic, onsite hairdressing facilities, a chapel, 15 visitor parking spaces, a café, swimming pool, exercise equipment and an innovative palliative care suite.

Bond House is conveniently situated near several public services and health facilities including the Hammondville shops (650m), Wattle Grove Shopping Village (2.5km) and Liverpool Hospital (6km). Bond House is near Heathcote Rd, a short drive from the M5 Motorway and Holsworthy and Liverpool Stations.

The 902 bus route runs through The Hammond stopping outside Bond House, connecting the facility with train stations and public services at Holsworthy and Liverpool. There are also several minibuses within the village which are used to take residents on regular outings.
