"Volunteering at HammondCare
is all about good stories – for the volunteer, our staff and, most importantly, the people we care for."
Barry Costello
Head of Volunteer Services,
HammondCare
When you volunteer at HammondCare you experience a great opportunity to give something back to the aged and frail in our society.
You'll find it both deeply satisfying and a great personal adventure. What's more, we take volunteering seriously and endeavour to provide meaningful experiences during your time with us.
If you have a passion to improve quality of life for the aged and frail please contact 8788 3090 or email volunteer@hammond.com.au.
“Volunteering is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I really look forward to my time with the residents. The people are beautiful and it is a very special time to me.”

“Volunteering at HammondCare has saved my life. I was feeling a bit low, when a friend encouraged me to come and volunteer at HammondCare’s facility at Hammondville. Now that I am volunteering I love it, it gives me purpose, I have a new sense of direction, and you see the satisfaction in the face of the residents that you interact with.”

“I have been volunteering here at HammondCare for 10 years. I absolutely love it and I would not being doing anything else, volunteering is so satisfying.”

“I can only speak positively about volunteers, they are so thoughtful, always asking if they can be of any help, and many of them have a great sense of humour.”
Female resident
“I am always amazed at the generosity of people giving up of their own time freely. Volunteers really add value to the life of the residents in our facilities. Some of the volunteers I know are absolutely brilliant.”

Late in 2011, 28 carers and volunteers accompanied 26 residents (many in wheel chairs ) on a train trip to Circular Quay, a ferry ride to Manly, fish and chips on the Corso and then return. All had a great day.
